Natasha Lyonne Opens Up About Relapse After 10 Years of Sobriety
Natasha Lyonne, known for her roles in “Russian Doll” and “Poker Face,” recently shared that she has relapsed after a decade of sobriety. The 46-year-old actor has been open about her struggles with addiction to drugs and alcohol, particularly heroin. In 2005, Lyonne faced serious health issues, including a collapsed lung, heart infection, and hepatitis C, all due to her drug abuse. This experience, alongside legal troubles, led her to get sober and she remained so for at least ten years.
On a recent post, Lyonne revealed her relapse, stating, “Took my relapse public more to come.” She followed up with a message emphasizing that recovery is a lifelong journey and offering support to those struggling with addiction. The “American Pie” star expressed her intention to regain sobriety for her upcoming film “Bambo,” which she is set to write, direct, and produce.
Lyonne received an outpouring of support from fans, to which she responded with gratitude and encouragement. Reflecting on her past, she shared how she was once drawn to the idea of living a carefree lifestyle, only to find herself caught in her addiction. After getting sober, she underwent open-heart surgery in 2012 to address damage from her heart infection.
