Netflix Cancels 2 Shows with Shocking Cliffhanger
Netflix made the tough decision to cancel two of its original shows recently, leaving fans with unresolved cliffhangers. “The Abandons,” a western drama starring Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson, won’t be returning for a second season. Similarly, “The Vince Staples Show,” a satirical comedy co-created by and starring rapper Vince Staples, has also been axed after two seasons.
Despite strong performances by both shows, they struggled to maintain viewer interest over the long haul. “The Abandons” garnered approximately 19.8 million views in its first 28 days on Netflix, but quickly dropped out of the top 10 list. Similarly, “The Vince Staples Show” failed to crack the weekly top 10 rankings and saw declining viewership numbers in its second season.
In addition to these cancellations, Netflix also bid farewell to “Billionaires’ Bunker,” a Spanish thriller that premiered in September 2025. While the show performed well initially, it was canceled after its first season, leaving fans hanging with an unresolved cliffhanger.
While Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed any other cancellations, there are rumors circulating about a potential third show on the chopping block. As the streaming giant fine-tunes its lineup for the rest of 2026, more cancellations may be announced in the near future. Stay tuned to see how Netflix shapes its programming slate in the coming weeks.
