Peacock’s Love Island USA Seasonal Streaming Views Hit Record High

In 2025, NBCU’s Peacock hit it out of the park with “Love Island USA,” which snagged the crown for the most-watched original streaming show. Luminate Data reports that the show racked up a whopping 18 billion minutes of streaming during its seventh season. Impressive, right? And get this—it had a massive 37-episode season, blowing away the competition that typically only churns out 9 to 10 episodes per season.

But hold up, because HBO Max’s “The Pitt” wasn’t far behind, coming in at a close second with 18 billion minutes during its debut season in 2025. Paramount+’s “Landman” also made a splash in its first year, pulling in 11.4 billion minutes of viewing.

Of course, Netflix wasn’t about to sit back and let others take the spotlight. The streaming giant dominated the next six spots with hits like the final season of “Stranger Things,” which garnered 11.2 billion minutes. Plus, Netflix’s “Wednesday,” “The Night Agent,” “The Hunting Wives,” “Untamed,” and “Ginny & Georgia” all made the top ten list.

Netflix continued to reign supreme in the streaming world, capturing a whopping 59% share of original streaming viewing time in the U.S. Amazon Prime Video followed with 10%, and HBO Max, Hulu, Apple TV, Disney+, and Peacock each held 6% or 5% of the market share.

Luminate Data really dives deep to get these numbers, tapping into ACR data from U.S. devices, platform data (both first-party and third-party), web traffic details, search behavior, and other engagement indicators. They even use some nifty mathematical models to make sense of it all because, let’s face it, no single dataset can cover all the nuances of streaming behavior.
