HBO Max Casts Tariq Al-Saies as Lead in Prequel Series ‘4 Blocks Zero’

Blindspot actor Tariq Al-Saies has landed a lead role in HBO Max’s upcoming German crime series, 4 Blocks Zero. He will portray Ibrahim Mansour in the prequel to the popular German crime drama, 4 Blocks. The new series, set in 1990s Berlin, will delve into the early years of the Hamady family as they rise through the city’s criminal underground.

Al-Saies is recognized for his work in shows like ZDF’s Liberame – After the Storm, MBC’s Al Zind, and NBC’s Blindspot. Represented by Actorsgarden, he brings a wealth of talent to his new role.

With HBO Max’s recent launch in Germany, 4 Blocks Zero is a significant project for the streaming service in Europe this year. Produced by W&B Television, the series is scheduled for a fall 2026 debut. The creative team includes head writer Bernd Lange, along with Bahar Bektaş, Natalie Zoghbi, and Hassan Akkouch. Directors for the series will be Özgür Yıldırım, Hüseyin Tabak, Matthias Bolliger, and Max Preiss. Executive producers include Quirin Berg, Max Wiedemann, Marcus Welke, Matthias Junge, and Yıldırım, with Anke Greifeneder overseeing the project for HBO Max.
