Divisive Superhero Movie Coming to Disney+

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has found a home on Disney+, making it the go-to streaming platform for superhero fans. However, when it comes to Spider-Man-related characters, things can get a bit tricky due to Sony having its own universe of films. But now, fans can rejoice as one of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe films is finally making its way to Disney+.

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” released in 2021, will be available on Disney+ starting January 22nd. Directed by Andy Serkis and starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, the movie is a sequel to 2018’s “Venom” and explores Eddie’s encounter with the alien symbiote Venom as they face off against the dangerous Cletus Kasady, who becomes the host of Carnage.

The film received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising its lighter tone and comedic elements, while others were unsure if these changes improved the overall experience. Despite the divided opinions, fans enjoyed the movie, leading it to become a significant box office success, grossing $506 million worldwide and ranking as the seventh highest-grossing film of 2021. The success of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” also paved the way for its sequel, “Venom: The Last Dance,” released in 2024.

While the sequel also divided opinions, it set the stage for an exciting crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A mid-credits scene in “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” showed Eddie and Venom briefly transported to the MCU, hinting at a potential showdown between Spider-Man and Venom. Although the likelihood of this crossover happening remains uncertain, fans are hopeful for an epic clash between the two iconic characters.

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” is set to debut on Disney+ on January 22nd, giving fans the chance to relive the excitement of Eddie and Venom’s thrilling encounter. Let the countdown begin!
