HBO Max and A24 Renew Pay-1 Movie Deal

Fans of A24 films have a reason to celebrate as HBO Max and A24 have renewed their Pay-1 movie deal. This means that A24 movies will continue to be exclusively available on HBO and HBO Max in the U.S. right after their theatrical and PVOD releases. So, if you’re a HBO Max subscriber, you’ll have access to a bunch of fantastic indie films from A24 throughout the deal.

In 2025, half of A24’s Pay-1 titles made it to HBO Max’s top 10 movies within two weeks of hitting the service. What’s interesting is that almost 70 percent of HBO Max viewers who watched an A24 movie came back for more, watching an average of four films each.

Royce Battleman, the executive vice president of global content acquisitions, praised A24’s contribution, saying, “A24 has been an incredible partner, bringing a slate of talented creative voices and an engaged audience base to the platform.”

As part of this deal renewal, HBO Max subscribers get first dibs on A24 movies like The Backrooms, The Death of Robin Hood, The Drama, Enemies, How to Make a Killing, Marty Supreme, The Moment, Pillion, and Primetime. And there are more titles to come! So get ready to enjoy some amazing films from this collaboration.
