Eddy Cue Reveals Apple TV Viewership Increase of 36% in 2025

Apple TV’s Senior VP of Services, Eddy Cue, shared some exciting news on January 12th, 2026. He highlighted Apple’s impressive accomplishments in their services division in 2025, taking special note of Apple TV’s subscription video-on-demand (VOD) service.

Cue revealed that the total hours viewed on Apple TV rose by a significant 36% compared to 2024, marking a new milestone in the platform’s monthly engagement. This growth spike was fueled by an increase in viewership across Europe and Latin America, ongoing expansion in the United States, and the global premieres of major titles like F1, the Golden Globe-winning “Pluribus,” and The Family Plan 2, along with the classic “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

Among these successes was “F1: The Movie,” showcasing Brad Pitt as an aging F1 driver, which emerged as the top film on Apple TV and the highest-grossing sports film in theatrical history, earning $631.7 million at the box office. The movie was distributed theatrically by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Apple’s services arm, encompassing Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple News, Apple Pay, iCloud, and other ventures, achieved record revenue of $109.16 billion for the fiscal year ending in September 27. This marked a notable 13.5% increase from the previous fiscal year’s revenue of $96.17 billion.

While Cue didn’t delve into specific details about the paid-subscriber metrics for Apple TV’s streaming VOD service – launched on November 1, 2019 – he declared that in December 2025, Apple TV broke all previous viewership records. On another high note, Apple Music also experienced record listenership and new subscriber figures.
