Peacock Rescued in Kurigram: Heartwarming animal rescue story
A lucky peacock found itself in a bit of a bind in Kurigram’s Ulipur upazila recently, but thanks to the quick action of the upazila administration and the Forest Department, it’s now safe and sound. The beautiful bird was rescued from a house in the Deldarganj Bazar area of Buraburi union, a lovely spot surrounded by the Brahmaputra River. The rescue operation was led by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) SM Mehedi Hasan.
Local folks reported seeing the peacock near a maize field in Deldarganj the day before. Unfortunately, it had become ensnared in a net from the field and suffered some injuries. Thankfully, a kind local resident named Saddam Hossain came to the rescue and brought the peacock to his home for safekeeping.
Weighing in at approximately four kg, this lucky bird is now out of danger and on the road to recovery. Let’s hope it spreads its wings and flies high once again soon!
