Disney promotes Jimmy Zasowski to President of Platform Distribution

Disney has some exciting news to share! They’ve promoted Jimmy Zasowski to president of platform distribution, overseeing global distribution for Disney Entertainment and ESPN. This means he’s in charge of making sure all our favorite shows and sports reach audiences worldwide, including right here in the EMEA region. Zasowski will be handling the distribution of Disney’s direct-to-consumer services like Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN, as well as the company’s linear portfolio, ABC’s stations, and content licensing.

But that’s not all—Disney has also given Sean Breen, EVP of platform distribution sales, an expanded role. He now has the added responsibility of managing distribution in EMEA, LATAM, and APAC in addition to his existing global and North America duties.

These appointments come after a series of distribution challenges for Disney in the US, such as the blackout on Charter’s Spectrum systems in 2023, the 13-day dispute with DirecTV in September 2024, and a recent disagreement with YouTube TV that temporarily removed channels like ESPN and ABC before a deal was reached to restore service. It’s great to see Disney making moves to ensure we can continue enjoying our favorite content hassle-free!
