Emily Henry’s ‘Funny Story’ Movie Set at Netflix: Details on ‘Happy Place’ Film
Fans of Emily Henry’s romantic novels have something to look forward to as Netflix expands its partnership with the author. In addition to the highly anticipated film adaptation of “People We Meet on Vacation,” the streaming service has announced that it will also be adapting her book “Funny Story” into a movie. What’s more, the TV series adaptation of “Happy Place” is now also shifting gears to become a feature film.
“Happy Place” follows the story of former couple Harriet and Wyn, who decide to fake being together for one last summer trip with their friends at a beach house in Maine as they navigate the complexities of their broken engagement.
Produced by Nuyorican’s Jennifer Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina, “Happy Place” was initially planned as a TV series but will now be transformed into a film. On the other hand, “Funny Story” is in the capable hands of Lyrical Media and Ryder Picture Company (RPC), with Alexander Black, Aaron Ryder, and Andrew Swett attached to produce.
