Disney+ Adds Vertical Videos to Service Later This Year

Disney+ is revamping its streaming service by adding vertical videos later this year. This move is aimed at increasing viewer engagement, as reported by Deadline. During the Tech and Data Showcase at CES, Disney unveiled this exciting update. Get ready for a mix of content on Disney+’s vertical videos, ranging from original short-form content to social media snippets and even scenes from longer Disney+ titles, shared Erin Teague, EVP of product management for Disney Entertainment and ESPN, in a chat with Deadline.

The focus is on creating a seamless experience within the platform that resonates with user habits, according to Teague. These vertical videos won’t just be teasers for longer shows but will offer a different kind of experience altogether. Disney actually tested the waters with vertical videos on the ESPN app using the “Verts” tab, which made its debut back in August 2025. So, if you’re a Disney+ fan, be on the lookout for these new and innovative additions coming your way soon!
