Paramount+ show to conclude after 5 seasons

Fans of the popular Paramount+ show “Mayor of Kingstown” will be sad to hear that the series is coming to an end after its fifth season. The show, which has been a big success both critically and commercially, will wrap up with an eight-episode final season. The talented duo of Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco will continue to star in this crime drama, co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon.

Set in the fictional town of Kingstown, Michigan, the show delves into themes of power, corruption, and survival in a town heavily influenced by the prison industry. The story revolves around the McLusky family, who play a crucial role in managing the delicate balance between inmates, guards, police, gangs, and politicians.

Although the series started with a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes in 2021, it has steadily improved over the years, reaching an impressive 100% score for its fourth season in 2025. While ratings have been strong, they have not quite reached the levels of other hit Paramount projects led by Sheridan such as “Landman” and “Tulsa King,” which have consistently ranked on Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 list of streaming originals.

Season four of “Mayor of Kingstown” also features an exceptional cast including Lennie James, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Nishi Munshi.
