Disney to Integrate Hulu and Disney+ by 2026
Disney is revamping its streaming services, with plans to integrate Hulu content into Disney+ by 2026. This doesn’t mean Hulu is disappearing, it’s just getting cosier with Disney+. The merger was announced last year, and while there’s no exact launch date yet, progress is being made.
According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, the idea is to combine Hulu content with Disney+ to offer subscribers a wide range of entertainment options, including branded and general entertainment, news, and sports. Essentially, they aim to create a one-stop-shop for entertainment.
Disney took control of Hulu back in 2019 as part of a massive deal involving Fox assets. The full integration of Hulu was put on hold until recently when Disney bought out Comcast’s stake in the service. Now, users can seamlessly navigate between Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN on the Disney+ homepage.
Hulu is expected to continue as the go-to brand for general entertainment, hosting popular shows like “Only Murders in the Building,” “Paradise,” and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” So, get ready for an even bigger Disney+ experience coming soon!
