Top 100 New Movies on Netflix, Prime Video, and More in 2025

As the year comes to a close, it’s a good time to look back on all the amazing movies that I’ve watched in 2025. It was my goal to watch as many new films as possible, and I can proudly say that I exceeded my expectations by watching over 100 new movies on various streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, and HBO Max.

Throughout the year, I’ve shared my top nine favorites of each month in my monthly streaming roundups, totaling to 108 movies in my series. It might sound like a lot, but as a movie-lover, it’s been a fun and enjoyable experience.

To wrap up the year, I’ve compiled a list of the top 12 new movies I watched in 2025 that really stood out. When I say ‘new movies’, I mean films that were new to me, not necessarily released in 2025.

In January, “My Old Ass” directed by Megan Park, made a lasting impression on me. This coming-of-age movie strikes a perfect balance between comedy and drama, delivering laughter and tears in equal measure. The story follows Elliott, who meets her older self on her 18th birthday, leading to a valuable life lesson about love and choices.

Moving on to February, Luca Guadagnino’s “Queer” caught my attention with its artsy drama and exceptional performances by Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey. The film brings to life William S Burroughs’ novel with Craig playing William Lee, an American immigrant in Mexico, whose life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Eugene Allerton, a young student and former soldier.
