Apple TV Removes ‘The Hunt’ from Schedule Amid Plagiarism Accusations

Apple TV recently made a decision to pull the upcoming French series, “The Hunt,” from its schedule after accusations of plagiarism. The drama, which was set to launch on the streaming platform, came under fire for allegedly copying key elements from a 1973 thriller called “Shoot,” written by American author Douglas Fairbairn. According to reports, a French version of “Shoot” was published a year later under the title “The Hunt,” which is what series director, creator, and screenwriter Cédric Anger is accused of plagiarizing.

French media journalist Clément Garin shared on his Substack that Anger failed to disclose to Apple TV that his show was based on an adaptation. The series stars Benoît Magimel and Mélanie Laurent.

This news comes shortly before the scheduled release of the show and has left fans and viewers curious about the future of “The Hunt” on Apple TV. Stay tuned for updates as the situation continues to unfold.
