Muppet Show Revival Special: Release Date and First Look

A special event for fans of “The Muppet Show” is coming to Disney+ and ABC on Feb. 4, 2026. In this special, the Muppets will return to the Muppet Theatre for a variety show, featuring Sabrina Carpenter as the guest star. This premiere marks the 50th anniversary of the original series created by Jim Henson, which aired from 1976 to 1981 and featured celebrity guests like Elton John, Johnny Cash, and Paul Simon.

Veteran Muppet performers like Bill Barretta and Dave Goelz will reprise their roles in this special, alongside some additional performers. Dave Goelz, a Muppet performer for over 50 years, originated characters like Gonzo and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew. The teaser for the event special can be found below.
