Taylor Swift End of an Era Docuseries: Top 13 Moments

Last Friday, the first two episodes of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour documentary — The End of an Era — officially dropped on Disney+. Whether you’ve already watched it and want to fangirl along with us, or you just want the tea, here are 13 facts we’ve learned (so far!) that people can’t stop talking about:

1. Before Taylor took the stage to kickstart the show with the Lover era, eagle-eyed fans noticed that her crew would leave her sweet messages on her lift’s screen every night. We saw one of these in the documentary’s trailer, and a different one in Episode 1.

2. Between the Asia and Europe legs of the Eras Tour in 2024, Taylor and her team had a two-month break that wasn’t really a break at all. They were actually working The Tortured Poets Department into the Eras Tour, building a “top secret rehearsal facility” to do so privately and without leaks. Additionally, her dancers had to learn their choreography with the lyrics in their heads, as it couldn’t be played out loud because the album wasn’t out until April.

3. In a scene where Taylor’s on the phone with Travis, we get a quick glimpse at her screen, where it appears as though her fiancé is saved in her phone as “Travis ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥.” As we know now, the flaming heart icon represents her latest album and era, The Life of a Showgirl, which Travis heavily inspired.

4. Taylor’s tour choreographer, Mandy Moore, was recommended to her by her longtime friend, Emma Stone. Emma worked with Mandy on La La Land. While Mandy’s background is in film and television rather than music, she reflected on how her style has worked well on the Eras Tour, as Taylor’s songs are like little movies of their own.

5. When casting dancers for the tour, Taylor aimed for diversity and individuality. She wanted each of her dancers to shine and be as diverse as her audience, rather than conforming to a specific look or gender.

6. Taylor revealed that she was taught choreography from a lyrical perspective on tour, timing her movements to the syllables of words in her songs. Critics have noted a noticeable difference in not only her skill but also her confidence in dancing since the start of the Eras Tour.

7. For each leg of the tour, Taylor gives every member of her crew a handwritten, wax-sealed thank-you note, in addition to a sizable bonus. The more the tour grosses, the more her team gets.

8. The full amount her dancers were given in bonuses was not disclosed, but fans speculate it was somewhere between $600,000 and $750,000 each for that leg alone. The note reads: “We’ve traveled the world like we set out to do. We’ve dazzled the crowds, but we’ve missed family, too. My full gratitude doesn’t come from a bank, but here’s [amount] dollars just to say thanks.” *Fans speculate it started with an “s” as one of Taylor’s dancers, Kam, read the letter out loud for the crew, and started saying the amount.
