Nielsen Data: The Roku Channel Beats Paramount+, Tubi, Peacock, and HBO Max in November U.S. Viewer Rankings
The Roku Channel was the most popular free ad-supported streaming TV platform on American household televisions in November, according to Nielsen. Launched back in September 2017, The Roku Channel secured a 2.9% market share, surpassing platforms like Paramount+ (2.3%), Tubi (2.1%), Peacock (1.9%), and HBO Max (1.3%).
The big names in the streaming world, Netflix (8.3%) and YouTube (12.9%), continued to dominate the TV streaming video scene last month.
Exciting news for fans of home improvement shows – “Honest Renovations” on The Roku Channel, starring Jessica Alba and Lizzy Mathis, was renewed for a fourth season in November. Additionally, there’s a new series in the works called “NFL Hometown Eats,” featuring Eva Longoria and NFL Films, set to launch in 2026. Coming up even sooner is the road-trip comedy “Broad Trip,” with Sophia Bush and Lauren Holly, set to debut in May 2026.
On top of all the great content, The Roku Channel offers special discounts through the Roku platform’s third-party subscription streaming video services. Especially during the winter holiday season, there’s been a whopping 32% increase in promotional offers for subscription video services compared to last year. Holidays bring out the best deals, and services are luring in new subscribers with extended trials and discounted monthly rates.
It’s clear that subscription streaming services are capitalizing on the holiday season and key retail events to run promotions that draw in new fans. With Roku’s prominent platform in the mix, these services are making sure viewers have no shortage of good deals heading into the new year.
