Cillian Murphy to star in “28 Years Later” sequel
A third film in the “28 Days Later” series has officially been announced, and fans are in for a treat! After receiving positive feedback on the second installment, Sony has confirmed that a third movie starring Cillian Murphy is in the works.
Originally planned as a trilogy, Sony decided to wait and see how the first two films performed before moving forward with the final chapter. However, with the success of “The Bone Temple,” the third film is now a go.
Alex Garland will be returning to write the script for the third film, which will pick up where the second movie left off. The Bone Temple, directed by Nia DaCosta, promises to be just as thrilling and intense as its predecessors.
Fans of the series will be excited to know that Cillian Murphy will be reprising his role as Jim in the upcoming film. Despite not having a budget yet, Murphy and the rest of the team are hopeful that the success of the first two movies will secure funding for the third installment.
“28 Years Later” was a box office hit, grossing $151.3 million, so there’s no doubt that the third installment will be just as successful. Stay tuned for more updates as the production of the film moves forward. Get ready for more post-apocalyptic action with Cillian Murphy in the lead role!
