Massachusetts Celebrities Nominated for 2026 Golden Globes

Two talented actresses from Massachusetts have just been nominated for the 2026 Golden Globes, and their achievements are something to celebrate! Ayo Edebiri, a Dorchester native, has received her third Golden Globe nomination for her role as chef Sydney Adamu in “The Bear” on FX on Hulu. This time, she’s up for the award in the category of “Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.” Ayo’s talent and hard work have clearly paid off, as this is her third nomination after winning the award back in 2024.

In this year’s competition, Ayo is facing tough competition from Kristen Bell, Selena Gomez, Natasha Lyonne, Jenna Ortega, and the reigning winner, Jean Smart. It’s great to see such talented actresses being recognized for their contributions to the industry.

Another Massachusetts native making waves in the entertainment world is Amy Poehler, hailing from Burlington. Amy has received her fourth Golden Globe nomination, but this time, it’s for a different medium. Her podcast, “Good Hang with Amy Poehler,” which debuted in March, has been nominated in the “Best Podcast” category for the first time at the Golden Globes. It’s fantastic to see Amy exploring new avenues of creativity and being recognized for her innovative work.

Amy is no stranger to the Golden Globes, having been nominated three times for her role as Leslie Knope in “Parks and Recreation.” She took home the award in 2014, showcasing her versatility as a performer.

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards, set to be hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
