HBO Max Launching in Germany and Italy on January 13

HBO Max is expanding its global streaming service to Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein on January 13, 2026, with a broader rollout across Europe to follow soon after. This launch will bring acclaimed content from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, the DC Universe, and Max Originals to audiences in these countries through the HBO Max app.

Fans can look forward to enjoying popular dramas like The Pitt, IT: Welcome to Derry, House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Euphoria, and Industry. In addition, the platform offers an extensive movie library with hits like Superman, The Batman, Dune, and the Harry Potter series.

Sports enthusiasts will have access to live broadcasts of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 from February 6-22, which will be available to all subscribers across different plans. Moreover, the expansion includes a lineup of local HBO Original programming specifically tailored to audiences in Germany and Italy.

In Germany, HBO Max will feature a diverse selection of films, including titles from output agreements with Leonine Studios and Constantin Film, as well as German Warner Bros. Pictures productions like Wunderschöner. Viewers can expect exclusive premieres of international and German titles from Leonine Studios, such as The Housemaid, The Hunger Games — Sunrise On The Reaping, and Asterix: The Kingdom Of Nubia, as well as German feature films like Corpus Delicti, from the production banner Wiedemann & Berg Film.
