Nicholas Hoult and Daisy Edgar-Jones to Star in Disney+ Comedy ‘Mosquito’
Nicholas Hoult and Daisy Edgar-Jones are teaming up with Tony McNamara, the writer behind shows like “The Great” and “Poor Things,” for a new comedy series on Disney+ called “Mosquito.”
The show is described as a funny and slightly sarcastic take on a young couple’s relationship. Hoult and Edgar-Jones play Kate and Ed, a recently married couple whose daily lives start to uncover their hidden secrets, all thanks to an annoying mosquito. Filming for the show is expected to start next year.
This Hulu original series from the U.K. is a reunion for Hoult and McNamara after their success with “The Great,” which had a three-season run on the streaming platform. McNamara expressed his excitement to work with Hoult and Edgar-Jones, calling them two of the best actors around, and is looking forward to creating some ridiculous comedy with them.
Eric Schrier, president of Disney Television Studios, and Angela Jain, head of content at Disney+ EMEA, praised McNamara’s talent as a writer and are excited to see what he brings to this new project.
