Disney+ Phase 6 Timeline Jump Sets MCU History Ablaze
Disney+ recently made MCU history with a groundbreaking Phase 6 timeline jump. This move spans a longer period of time than any other phase on the MCU timeline. The release of “Fantastic Four: First Steps” on Disney+ shook things up by traveling further into the future than any previous MCU project. Even though it takes place in a different retro-futurist universe, its debut is considered a landmark moment for the franchise.
With the addition of “Fantastic Four: First Steps” to Disney+ on November 5th, this is the first time the entire MCU Complete Timeline Order on the streaming platform has been bookended by a single phase. “First Steps” takes the franchise further into the future than ever before, claiming one end of the MCU timeline, while the ancient history-focused animated anthology “Eyes of Wakanda” holds the other end.
Usually, titles from different phases occupied these two spots, but Phase 6 started breaking this pattern back in July with the release of “Fantastic Four” in theaters. Moving forward, we can expect this trend to continue with upcoming Phase 6 projects and Phase 7, including the highly anticipated “Avengers: Secret Wars.”
In January, MCU Phase 6 will see the release of “Wonder Man” on Disney+. This new streaming project, led by Yahya Abdul-Matteen II, promises a humorous take on Hollywood and the comic book media industry. Positioned later in the MCU timeline, it appears to take place after “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.”
Following “Wonder Man,” fans can look forward to “VisionQuest,” a continuation of the beloved WandaVision series. This sequel will feature Paul Bettany’s Synthezoid character and is expected to lead directly into “Avengers: Doomsday.”
In another exciting development, “The Punisher Special Presentation” will give Jon Bernthal’s character a standalone adventure on Disney+. This R-rated project is expected to precede “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which will kick off the final phase of MCU Phase 6.
All these Phase 6 projects are building up to the highly anticipated “Avengers: Doomsday,” which will mark the first part of a new Avengers duology. This installment will see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes teaming up with characters from across the Multiverse to take on the formidable Doctor Doom.
As the MCU timeline approaches these climactic events, fans can expect plenty of excitement and surprises as the franchise continues to push the boundaries of storytelling and creativity.
