Fans of Everybody Loves Raymond praise gorgeous tribute to late child star Sawyer Sweeten

Fans of the classic TV show Everybody Loves Raymond are praising the recent 30th Anniversary Reunion special for its heartfelt tribute to late stars Peter Boyle, Doris Roberts, and Sawyer Sweeten. Boyle, who passed away in 2006 at the age of 71, and Roberts, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 90, played the parents of Ray Romano’s character on the show. Sweeten, who tragically died in 2015 at the age of 19, played one of Ray’s twin sons.

The reunion special, which aired on CBS, brought together Romano and other cast members like Patricia Heaton, Brad Garrett, Monica Horan, Sullivan Sweeten, and Madylin Sweeten. The 90-minute special included a touching tribute to Boyle and Roberts, featuring clips from the show and memories shared by the cast. Fans took to social media to express their appreciation for the tribute, with many reminiscing about the impact that Roberts, Boyle, and Sweeten had on the show. Romano confirmed at the start of the reunion that there will not be a reboot of the show because he believes it wouldn’t be the same without the original cast members.

Everybody Loves Raymond, which aired from 1996 to 2005, followed Raymond’s life as a sports journalist and family man in Long Island, New York. Despite the fond memories of the show, Garrett, who played Romano’s brother in the series, stated that he would not reprise his role. However, he expressed gratitude for the experience, saying he feels fortunate to have been a part of the show.
