UEFA TV Rights Renewals: Which Channels Have Them?

In exciting news for European football fans, there have been some big changes in who will be broadcasting UEFA club competitions in the coming years. In France, Canal+ has locked in exclusive rights to 100% of UEFA club competitions until 2031. This means they will be the go-to pay-TV provider for European club football in France for the next four seasons.

Over in Spain, Telefónica has secured a deal to continue showing all UEFA club competitions on Movistar Plus+ until 2031. This includes the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Super Cup, and Youth League. Movistar is definitely the place to be for European football in Spain.

In Italy, things will stay pretty consistent with Sky Italia remaining the main pay-TV broadcaster for the Champions League. Amazon Prime Video will also continue to offer an 18-match package on Wednesday nights, featuring the top game each round.

The biggest changes are happening in the UK and Germany. Paramount+ is stepping into the spotlight by winning the bulk of Champions League rights in the UK from 2027 to 2031. Additionally, Sky Sports will now be showing all Europa League and Conference League matches. In Germany, Paramount+ has also secured a significant Champions League package, alongside Amazon Prime Video.

These shifts are part of UEFA’s new multi-market tender, which initially covers the “big five” markets – UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, France. Other European territories will follow in later waves. Football fans have a lot to look forward to as these new broadcast deals come into play. Exciting times ahead for European club football!
