Disney CFO Discusses Q4 Results, Streaming Strategy, and YouTube TV Negotiations
Disney announced their quarterly earnings results, revealing impressive growth in their streaming services division. The company reported a total of 103.6 million subscribers across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ as of April 3.
Disney CFO, Hugh Johnston, highlighted the success of Disney+ specifically, noting that the streaming service now has over 94.9 million subscribers. This marks a significant increase from the 33.5 million subscribers reported in the same quarter last year.
Johnston also emphasized the diversity of content available on Disney+, including popular titles like “The Mandalorian” and “WandaVision.” He credited the strong lineup of content for attracting new subscribers and retaining existing ones.
In addition to Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ also showed growth in subscribers. Hulu now has 39.4 million subscribers, while ESPN+ has 13.8 million subscribers. These numbers reflect a steady increase in demand for streaming services across the board.
