DC Studios & HBO Max Announce Jimmy Olsen Crime Series by ‘American Vandal’ Creators

DC Studios and HBO Max are joining forces to bring us an exciting new crime series centered around Daily Planet photographer Jimmy Olsen. If you’re a fan of “Superman,” you’ll be thrilled to know that Skyler Gisondo will be reprising his role as Olsen in the upcoming show titled “DC Crime.”

The masterminds behind the hit series “American Vandal,” Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, will be writing, showrunning, and producing this new spinoff set in the DC Universe. “DC Crime” will follow Olsen and his colleagues at the Daily Planet as they investigate stories involving metahumans and individuals with superpowers.

In the first season, viewers can expect to see the focus shift to Gorilla Grodd, a formidable villain from The Flash’s universe. This super-intelligent ape rules over Gorilla City and has his sights set on even bigger conquests. Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino in 1959, Gorilla Grodd is a classic character that is sure to add an exciting element to the series.

Following the success of “Peacemaker” and “Creature Commandos,” “DC Crime” is the latest addition to the revamped DC Universe overseen by James Gunn. Perrault and Yacenda, known for their work on “American Vandal,” are no strangers to crafting captivating crime comedies, making them the perfect duo to bring Olsen’s adventures to life.
