Duke vs Connecticut Football Game Recap: Blue Devils Defeated by Huskies

Duke Football took on Connecticut in Week 11, but unfortunately fell short on the road with a final score of 37-34. In a nail-biting finish, the Blue Devils tried to rally in the last two minutes, only to have quarterback Darian Mensah sacked and fumble the ball, leading to UConn’s victory. Duke’s record now stands at 5-4, while UConn improved to 7-3.

Mensah had a solid performance, going 22 of 31 for 222 yards, throwing three touchdowns but also two interceptions. Nate Sheppard rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and Que’Sean Brown caught five passes for 61 yards. Andrel Anthony and Jeremiah Hasley also added one receiving touchdown each.

On the opposing side, UConn outgained Duke with 467 total yards compared to Duke’s 390. Quarterback Joe Fagnano led the way with 311 passing yards, completing three touchdowns on 27-for-39 passing. Reymello Murphy and Skyler Bell were standout receivers for the Huskies, with Murphy tallying 110 yards and Bell catching two touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Duke will regroup at Wallace Wade Stadium to face Virginia in a Week 12 ACC matchup. The game against UConn was tough, but the Blue Devils are ready to bounce back and put on a show for their home crowd.
