Netflix expands video podcast offerings with new content
Netflix is definitely making moves in the podcasting world! They’ve been reaching out to agents at top agencies like WME, UTA, and CAA in order to sign on more video podcasters. Sources familiar with the matter spilled the beans to The Hollywood Reporter, saying that Netflix is gearing up for a big launch of video podcasts on their platform in early 2026, and they want to have a solid lineup of shows ready to go.
In addition to their own efforts, Netflix is in talks with iHeartMedia to potentially license some or all of their video podcasts. This could involve talent management agencies as well, so it’s all part of a bigger picture for Netflix. This move follows a recent deal between Netflix and Spotify, where a handful of video podcasts were added to Netflix’s content lineup.
While Netflix and iHeartMedia are keeping mum on the details, iHeartMedia investors seem pretty excited about the potential collaboration. After the news broke, iHeartMedia’s shares shot up almost 30%, reaching levels not seen since 2023. Shows like Las Culturistas, Jay Shetty Podcast, and Stuff You Should Know have been big hits for iHeartMedia.
All in all, it looks like Netflix is really ramping up their efforts in the podcasting world. Keep an eye out for more video podcasts coming your way soon!
