Peacock to Produce Taraji P. Henson Drama ‘The Accomplice’
Peacock is bringing a new drama series to life based on the novel “The Accomplice,” and it’s set to star the talented Taraji P. Henson. The novel, co-written by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Aaron Phillip Clark, was published in 2024 and caught the attention of Peacock for a potential adaptation.
With Jackson as an executive producer representing G-Unit Films and Television, alongside Henson executive producing and starring under her TPH Entertainment banner, the series has some heavy hitters behind it. The production will be handled by UCP, although a writer has not yet been attached to the project.
In an interview on “The Breakfast Club” in October, Jackson discussed Henson’s involvement in the project, indicating that the collaboration was already underway. The story follows Nia Adams, played by Henson, who is a Texas Ranger on the trail of master thief Desmond Bell, as he sets his sights on one of America’s wealthiest families. As Nia gets closer to capturing the thief, she uncovers a shocking conspiracy that forces her to make a difficult choice between exposing the truth and protecting the system she’s sworn to serve.
If the series goes forward, it would be Henson’s second project with Peacock. She previously starred in the star-studded drama “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” alongside Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, and her former co-star on “Empire” and “Hustle & Flow,” Terrence Howard.
Henson’s impressive career includes an Academy Award nomination in 2009 for her role in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Her versatility and talent make her a perfect fit for complex, dynamic characters like Nia Adams in “The Accomplice.”
