Tributes have poured in for Tony Adams, beloved actor known for his role in the soap Crossroads, who passed away at the age of 84. Born in Anglesey, Wales, in 1940, Adams began his acting career after training at the Italia Conti theatre school. His talent shone through in various productions, including his role as Dr Neville Bywaters in General Hospital and appearances in Dr Who.

In 1978, Adams took on the iconic role of accountant Adam Chance in Crossroads, a character that endeared him to audiences for a decade. Even after the series ended in 1988, Adams remained a memorable part of the show’s history, alongside fellow cast members like Jane Rossington and Kathy Staff.

Fans of Adams were delighted to see him return for the revival of Crossroads in 2001, proving that his charm and talent were timeless. His versatility as an actor was further showcased in his role as Grandpa Potts in the stage adaptation of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium Theatre in 2004.

Adams passed away at Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, with his wife Christine at his side. Colleagues and friends remember him as a “true joy” to work with, praising his skills as an actor, dancer, and singer. Michael Rose of The Michael Rose Organisation Ltd fondly recalled Adams as a talented and warm-hearted individual, whose presence brightened any production.
