Watch George Clooney’s ‘Jay Kelly’ on Netflix in Theaters

“Jay Kelly,” a dramedy about a movie star reflecting on his life on- and off-screen, is also a celebration of cinema magic. To enhance the themes of the Noah Baumbach film, Netflix is offering “Jay Kelly” in specialty screenings at historic movie palaces globally.

Similar to other Netflix fall awards contenders, “Jay Kelly” will have an exclusive theatrical release before becoming available on the streaming service. However, the company is customizing the venues to serve as a tribute to cinema’s golden age, aligning with the atmosphere and themes of the film. Shot and printed on 35mm Kodak film stock, “Jay Kelly” will be screened in 35mm in selected locations, with attendees receiving limited-edition film programs.

Director Noah Baumbach expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to showcase “Jay Kelly” in numerous historic movie palaces worldwide, highlighting the unique moviegoing experience these theaters offer and the importance of supporting them. He sees the theatrical run as an additional celebration of the film and the medium of cinema.
