RTL+ launches as add-on channel on Amazon Prime Video for Broadband TV viewing
German broadcaster RTL Deutschland has exciting news for fans of streaming entertainment! They’ve recently launched their streaming service, RTL+, as an add-on channel on Amazon Prime Video. This means that customers in Germany and Austria can now access RTL+ directly through Prime Video, without the hassle of a separate app, Prime membership, or annoying advertising breaks.
For just €12.99 per month, subscribers can enjoy the full video catalogue, which includes popular linear TV channels like RTL, VOX, and ntv, as well as a great mix of sports, fiction, reality, and entertainment content. Stephan Schmitter, CEO of RTL Deutschland, emphasized the importance of strong partnerships and expressed his excitement about extending their collaboration with Amazon through RTL+.
Henning Nieslony, Chief Streaming Officer at RTL Deutschland, highlighted that this integration opens up new target groups and increases the visibility of their top-notch content. Amazon is also thrilled about this new addition to their channel line-up, with Dr. Christoph Schneider, Managing Director of Prime Video Germany, praising the exclusive sports, German originals, and international premium content that RTL+ brings to the table.
This launch builds on the existing relationship between RTL Deutschland and Amazon, which already includes RTL’s pay-TV channels on Prime Video Channels. Additionally, fans can look forward to a reboot of the beloved 1990s show ‘Gladiators – Die Show der Giganten,’ co-produced by both companies, with filming set to start in spring 2026. Exciting times ahead for streaming enthusiasts!
