Marvel Boss Confirms Two MCU Disney+ Series Renewals are Being Considered

Marvel Studios is shaking things up on Disney+ with the possibility of renewing two of its series for Season 2. In the past, Marvel’s streaming shows have followed a pattern of being short, high-budget productions that sometimes left fans wanting more. However, the studio is now focusing on developing TV shows with longer episodes and a more traditional episodic structure.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly at New York Comic-Con, Marvel’s head of Television and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, spoke about the shift in strategy towards creating shows that can run for multiple seasons. The studio is looking to move away from standalone limited series and towards longer-running shows like “Daredevil: Born Again,” which has already been renewed through Season 3.

Winderbaum explained that previous Disney+ shows were designed as one-offs to connect with the wider MCU, making renewals expensive. However, Marvel is now working on developing series that can last for several seasons, with the aim of releasing new episodes annually.

While some unrenewed shows are still up in the air, Marvel is keeping an eye on viewer interest to determine which series may return for additional seasons. Shows like “Marvel Zombies” and “Wonder Man” are being considered for Season 2 renewals, depending on audience reception.

Marvel Studios is also focusing on hiring showrunners who can oversee a series from start to finish, signaling a change in approach to TV development. As the studio looks towards the future, only a limited number of new seasons will be released each year, with popular characters like Daredevil and Spider-Man leading the charge.

It’s an exciting time for Marvel fans as the studio explores new possibilities for its Disney+ lineup. With the potential for multiple season renewals and fresh show concepts in the works, the future of Marvel streaming entertainment looks bright.
