Disney+ Star Opens Up About Feeling ‘Destroyed’ After Show
One star of The Mandalorian, Katee Sackhoff, recently revealed on her podcast, The Sackhoff Show, that her experience working on the show left her feeling completely shattered. Despite her successful acting career in popular TV series like Nip/Tuck, CSI, 24, and The Flash, Sackhoff struggled with her confidence after portraying Bo-Katan Kryze on The Mandalorian.
Following her role on The Mandalorian, Sackhoff took a hiatus from acting for three years. In her podcast conversation with Battlestar Galactica co-star Tahmoh Penikett, she expressed how distant she felt from Bo-Katan’s character and how she struggled to connect with the role. The lack of guidance from the Disney showrunners added to her doubts and insecurities, leading to a significant loss of confidence.
Despite these challenges, Sackhoff has since worked on rediscovering her passion for acting with the help of a new manager and acting coach. She is set to star in Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Carrie, which will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Although Bo-Katan’s character is expected to return in The Mandalorian & Grogu, Sackhoff has hinted that she may not reprise her role in the upcoming film.
This journey of self-discovery and resilience showcases Sackhoff’s determination to overcome professional setbacks and find her confidence once again. Stay tuned for more updates on Katee Sackhoff’s career and future projects.
