Disney+ on Apple TV: Alien Earth Environment Now Available

Exciting news for Apple Vision Pro owners! The Disney+ app on visionOS now features a new Alien: Earth environment. This means you can watch Alien: Earth, or any other content on Disney+, while inside the Containment Room on the USCSS Maginot. Imagine being right in the heart of the action, with ambient sounds surrounding you and even the occasional appearance of the alien crawling above!

The Alien: Earth Containment Room is actually the sixth virtual environment available on the Disney+ app for visionOS. When the feature first launched with Apple Vision Pro, there were four environments to choose from. These included Disney+ Theater, inspired by the iconic El Capitan Theatre, Tatooine which puts you in Luke Skywalker’s landspeeder, Avengers Tower overlooking downtown Manhattan, and the Scare Floor from Monsters Inc. Not to mention, about a year ago, they also added an Iceland environment, developed in collaboration with National Geographic.

But the newest addition of the Alien: Earth environment takes the immersive experience to a whole new level. Vision Pro owners can even check out immersive panorama images of the Containment Room, Galley, and Mech Corridors on the USCSS Maginot through a special URL. And if that’s not enough, there’s a series of 3D spatial photos of key characters from Alien: Earth and an official podcast in 3D spatial video for an even deeper dive into the world of Alien: Earth.

While the panoramas and 3D content are technically available on other headsets via WebXR, they may not offer the same level of immersion as on Apple Vision Pro. So, if you’re a fan of Alien: Earth or just love exploring virtual worlds, be sure to check out this exciting new feature on Disney+!
