Goosebumps Cancelled after Two Seasons on Disney+

The popular Goosebumps series on Disney+ has unfortunately been canceled after two seasons. The show, based on R.L. Stine’s beloved books, last aired a season titled The Vanishing in January. But don’t fret, there’s hope that the series might find a new home as Sony Pictures TV, the producer of the show, is looking for other outlets interested in continuing the spooky adventures.

If you’re a fan of the original Goosebumps stories, there are over 200 thrilling tales in Stine’s collection, so there are plenty of spooky stories left to be told. The show was an anthology series, with the first season airing in October 2023, right in time for Halloween. It performed really well, even landing a spot in Nielsen’s top 10 original streaming series for several weeks. However, the second season that premiered in January didn’t quite hit the same high notes.

While we say goodbye to the Disney+ version of Goosebumps, let’s remember the fantastic cast that brought the stories to life. Season one featured Justin Long, Zack Morris, Isa Briones, and more, while season two starred David Schwimmer, Jayden Bartels, and Sam McCarthy. The series creators, Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman, put a modern twist on the classic tales we all know and love.

Since its debut, Goosebumps has managed to spook viewers worldwide, racking up 118 million hours of watch time so far. Whether you’re in the United States or one of the 16 international markets, Goosebumps was a hit with viewers seeking exciting and mysterious adventures. So, while we say goodbye for now, perhaps Goosebumps will find a new home and continue to thrill audiences with its haunting tales in the future.
