Disney+: Strategies to Increase Kids Engagement
Disney+ is focused on increasing engagement with its younger viewers this year, with plans to introduce new interactive features. Dana Walden, co-chair of Disney Entertainment, shared this exciting news at a recent conference in San Francisco. She emphasized the importance of connecting with the kids’ audience by offering engaging stories and interactive experiences that cater to their preferences.
During her session at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, Walden hinted at upcoming interactive features that are designed to enhance the way kids interact with content on Disney+. While she didn’t reveal specific details, she mentioned that these new features will align with the current trends in how kids consume media.
Walden also acknowledged the significance of platforms like YouTube in Disney’s strategy to engage young viewers. Disney Junior, for instance, has garnered a large following on YouTube with a variety of content offerings. Walden expressed the importance of maintaining a presence on platforms like YouTube to reach both creators and kids where they are most active.
Despite a slight decrease in Disney+ subscribers in the latest financial report, Disney has been actively working on initiatives to increase engagement and profitability. From implementing password crackdowns to introducing new live channels like Disney+ Playtime, the streaming platform is constantly evolving to meet the needs of its audience.
Walden highlighted some of the popular kids’ shows on Disney+, including Bluey, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Spidey and His Amazing Friends, and Ariel. She also announced the upcoming release of “Mufasa: The Lion King” on Disney+ in late March, following its theatrical debut in December.
In addition to these updates, Walden revealed that “Moana 2” will be making its streaming debut on Disney+ in March after its theatrical release in November. These additions to the Disney+ kids’ catalog are part of the platform’s ongoing efforts to provide quality content and interactive experiences for young viewers.
