3rd Children’s and Family Emmy Awards Nominations: Percy Jackson, Spiderwick
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) has announced the nominations for the 3rd Annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, set to take place in Los Angeles on March 15, 2025. This competition celebrates creativity and innovation in children’s entertainment and this year’s standouts include Percy Jackson and the Olympians from Disney+ with 16 nominations, The Spiderwick Chronicles from Roku with 14, Sesame Street with 13, and Netflix’s One Piece with 11.
Rachel Schwartz, the Head of the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, noted the significance of this year’s nominations following delays caused by last year’s strikes. She expressed excitement to recognize outstanding talent that influences the way children and families engage with the world.
The awards include various categories from Preschool Series like Blue’s Clues & You! to Fiction Specials such as Monster High 2 and The Velveteen Rabbit. Non-Fiction Programs like Elmo & Tango Holiday Helpers and Stand Up & Shout: Songs From a Philly High School have also been recognized.
The announcement also highlighted winners in the Juried Public Service Initiative category, with programs like La Fuerza-STEM and La Fuerza de Creer: Dulce Sazón taking the lead. Additionally, the lead performers in preschool, children’s, or young teen programs were acknowledged, with talents such as Lola Blue as Addie Darrow in A Kind of Spark and Justin Long as Mr. Bratt in Goosebumps standing out.
