Disney+ is getting into the Star Wars spirit early with the new series, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Originally set to premiere on December 3rd, the release date has been moved up a day to December 2nd, much to the delight of eager fans. The series kicks off with a two-episode premiere at 6pm PT, promising an exciting adventure that feels like a Star Wars take on The Goonies.

Led by Jude Law as the Force user Jod Na Nawood, Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as The Mandalorian and picks up after the events of Return of the Jedi. Fans can also look forward to some deep cuts from the Star Wars universe, like nods to the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978 and the appearance of Teeks from Ewoks: The Battle for Endor.

If you’re already marking your calendars for the big premiere, Disney has released a schedule of episode release dates and their respective directors via a tweet from the official Star Wars account. The series, spanning eight episodes, will wrap up on January 14, 2025, giving fans plenty of time to dive into the action and intrigue of Skeleton Crew.

But that’s not all! Disney has more Star Wars goodness in store with Andor Season 2 set to hit Disney+ on April 22, 2025, followed by Ahsoka: Season 2 and the highly anticipated The Mandalorian & Grogu movie from Jon Favreau, expected to arrive in 2026. Plus, there’s news of a new Star Wars trilogy helmed by Simon Kinberg, offering a fresh take on the universe that’s not part of the Skywalker Saga.

As a bonus treat, Disney is also working on a sequel to Star Wars: Episode 9 – The Rise of Skywalker, directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, which will explore Rey’s journey to rebuild the Jedi Order about 15 years after the events of the original film. With all these exciting Star Wars projects in the works, the future looks bright for fans of the galaxy far, far away. Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of Star Wars like never before!
