Disney+ Hires Sky Finance Chief for EMEA Operations
Disney has appointed Karl Holmes, the former finance boss at Sky, to oversee Disney+ operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Holmes takes on this role after Luke Bradley-Jones departed earlier this year to become president of the Economist. In his new position, Holmes will report to Jan Koeppen and Joe Earley, leading the Disney+ team in London responsible for hit shows like Rivals, Extraordinary, and The Good Mothers.
With over a decade of experience at Sky, Holmes held various senior roles in marketing, operations, finance, commercial, and data. His impressive track record at Sky includes serving as Chief Operating Officer for Europe and holding key positions in the UK and Ireland. Both Koeppen and Holmes are optimistic about the future of Disney+ in the EMEA region under Holmes’ direction, leveraging his expertise in consumer-focused businesses.
Holmes expressed his excitement at joining Disney after being a long-time admirer of the brand. His appointment comes at a pivotal time for Disney following Bradley-Jones’ move to the Economist and the departure of Liam Keelan. Disney continues to search for a new content chief for Disney+ in the region, further solidifying its commitment to delivering quality entertainment to audiences across EMEA.
