Mike Tyson and Jake Paul’s Netflix Boxing Match Delayed by Tyson’s Ulcer Flare-Up
The highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, set to be livestreamed on Netflix, has been postponed due to Tyson’s recent ulcer flare-up, the event’s promoter announced. The new date for the fight, which was initially scheduled for July 20, will be revealed by next Friday, June 7, as confirmed by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian’s Most Valuable Promotions, co-producing the event with Netflix. The bout, announced in March, is slated to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, later in 2024, according to MVP.
Most Valuable Promotions stated, “The upcoming highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will unfortunately be postponed. The health and well-being of athletes is our top priority, and we fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to allow him to perform at the level he expects of himself.” Tyson is expected to return to full training in the coming weeks and is eager to step back into the ring.
Netflix also shared an update on social media regarding the postponed Paul vs. Tyson fight. Tyson expressed gratitude to his fans for their support and understanding during this time, mentioning his doctor’s advice to rest and recover due to the ulcer flare-up. Paul voiced his support for postponing the event to ensure Tyson competes at his best, promising a sensational finish in their matchup.
