Vin Diesel announces Fast & Furious TV shows coming to Peacock

Vin Diesel, known for his role in the original 2001 film, The Fast and the Furious, shared exciting news about the Fast & Furious universe. During the NBC Universal upfront presentation, Diesel revealed that Peacock is gearing up to release not just one, but four new shows set in this action-packed world.

This announcement comes as fans eagerly anticipate the release of Fast Forever, the 11th mainline movie in the series, set to hit screens in 2028. Diesel expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Peacock is launching four shows in the Fast and the Furious universe.”

While details about how these shows will tie into the existing Fast & Furious storyline remain scarce, sources suggest that only the first show is currently in development, with the other three projects at various stages of progress at Universal Television. Peacock has not announced release dates or casting information for the upcoming shows.

Although it is uncertain whether Vin Diesel will appear in any of the TV series, he is set to serve as an executive producer alongside Sam Vincent through their production company, One Race. Notable writers Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman are attached to the project, with the support of veteran Fast & Furious franchise producers like Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty.

Diesel emphasized the importance of expanding the universe’s characters and stories, stating, “As you all know, we are very precious about these movies but over the last decade, we’ve realized that the fans have wanted more, they wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories.”

As we await the arrival of these four new shows on Peacock, fans can delve into the animated spin-off, Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, and stay tuned for the release of Fast Forever on March 17, 2028. The Fast & Furious franchise has captivated audiences for years with its thrilling action sequences and star-studded cast, making this expansion into television an exciting development for fans of the series.
