HBO Max Service Launches in U.K., Ireland, and 12 Asia-Pacific Countries

HBO Max has finally arrived in Europe, launching in the U.K., Ireland, and 12 countries in the Asia Pacific region. It’s big news for HBO Max to now be available in the U.K. and Ireland, and will be free for Sky TV subscribers and as a separate option on Prime Video Channels. Additionally, HBO Max is now the streaming home for TNT Sports in the U.K.

Not stopping there, HBO Max also expanded to 12 countries in the Asia Pacific region, including Bhutan, Fiji, and more. And there’s exciting news for New Zealand, where HBO Max is set to launch in mid-2026. Users in these regions will be able to watch the upcoming HBO Original “Harry Potter” series, starting with “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” premiering on Christmas.

According to JB Perrette, the CEO of global streaming and games at WBD, this launch represents a significant milestone for HBO Max, marking 22 seamless launches in 2026 so far. HBO Max initially launched in the U.S. in 2020 and has steadily expanded its reach across Latin America, Europe, and Asia. By the end of 2025, Warner Bros. Discovery reported an impressive 131.6 million global streaming subscribers. Exciting times ahead for HBO Max fans around the world!
