Seth MacFarlane Teases Season 4 of ‘The Orville’ in Recent Update
Set in the 25th century, “The Orville” may be gearing up for a new season. Seth MacFarlane, the brains behind the sci-fi hit, shared with The Hollywood Reporter that 10 new episodes have been written for a potential fourth season. MacFarlane, who not only created the series but also stars in it, mentioned that while Season 4 is fully scripted, the challenge lies in finding the time to produce it.
The show first took off on Fox before transitioning to Hulu for its third season, which premiered in June 2022. MacFarlane admits that his jam-packed schedule has been the main hurdle in moving forward with the new season. Hulu is on board for more episodes, but it’s now up to MacFarlane to clear his calendar for filming.
MacFarlane asserts, “The 10 scripts are done, I’m the problem. It’s [a matter of] when I can make that my year, with all the other stuff we have in the works. But we can hit the ground running when it happens.”
Fans of the show can rest assured that there’s hope for more interstellar adventures with Captain Ed and the crew of the USS Orville. So, while a Season 4 isn’t happening just yet, it seems like there’s plenty of excitement on the horizon.
