Premier League Singapore streaming service set for launch in 2026-27 season

Singapore is set to get its own Premier League streaming service next season, with the exciting launch of Premier League Plus. This Netflix-style app will give users access to all 380 matches of the season, along with additional content. It’s a new way of broadcasting games, moving away from the traditional model of selling rights packages to broadcasters. But don’t worry, existing deals with providers like Sky Sports and TNT Sports in the UK will not be affected.

Several other sports organizations, including the NFL, NBA, and Major League Baseball in North America, have already successfully launched their own streaming platforms. Formula 1 is also in on the action. Premier League chief executive Richard Masters made the big announcement at the Financial Times Business of Football Summit in London. He mentioned that this move has been in the works for a while, under the previously rumored name “Premflix.”

Masters shared his excitement about the launch, mentioning that this new service will give the Premier League direct access to its own customers. The app can be downloaded on smart TVs and laptops, offering not only matches but also a variety of extra content. The goal is to learn from this new venture and see how it could be expanded worldwide in the future.

The Premier League Studios production hub in Olympia, London, will also be opening at the same time as the streaming service launch. While traditional broadcast rights have brought in huge amounts of revenue for the league, direct-to-consumer subscription platforms present a new opportunity to control content distribution and increase revenue potential.

With this new streaming service, fans in Singapore and beyond will soon have even more access to the exciting world of Premier League football. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to enjoy all the action right from your own screen.
