Switch Streaming App Ending Soon: Limited Options Available

If you’re a Nintendo Switch user who enjoys streaming media, you might have noticed a change recently. One of the few streaming apps available on the Switch, Hulu, has been removed from the eShop, and full support for the app is ending soon. According to Nintendo’s support website, official support for the Hulu application will end on February 5. The app originally launched back in November 2017, a few months after the console was released, but unfortunately, it’s not compatible with the newer Nintendo Switch 2, and there has never been a native version of the app for the new console.

This change is part of a larger move for Disney-owned media services, as Disney confirmed last year that Hulu will be fully integrated into Disney+. This means that standalone subscriptions for both services will still be available, but if you want to watch Hulu content in the future, you’ll have to do so through the Disney+ app. Unfortunately for Switch users, Disney+ has never been available on Nintendo consoles. In fact, streaming giants like Netflix, Prime Video, and HBO Max have also not made their way to the Switch platform, leaving only YouTube and Crunchyroll as notable streaming apps on the original Switch.
