Hulu App Discontinuation on Nintendo Switch: What You Need to Know

The Hulu app is bidding farewell to the Nintendo Switch, as confirmed by Nintendo. Unfortunately, if you were hoping to catch your favorite shows on the app, you won’t be able to find it in the store anymore. Nintendo has announced that support for the app will officially end on February 5, 2026. So, if you have the app downloaded on your Switch, it will no longer work after that date.

This change is part of Disney’s larger strategy for Hulu. The standalone app model is being phased out across all platforms, not just the Switch. Disney has decided to combine Disney+ and Hulu into one unified service.

In addition to Hulu, Twitch also recently ended its support on the Nintendo Switch. Although it arrived on the console in 2021, it was discontinued just a few years later. Currently, the main media apps available on the Switch are YouTube and Crunchyroll. Unfortunately, Netflix and other services like Disney+ never made their way to the console.
