The official synopsis teases, “Prepare for the pulse-pounding action and thrills of Tron: Ares. When the advanced Program called Ares is dispatched from the digital realm to the real world on a dangerous mission, it sets the stage for humanity’s first interaction with AI beings.”

So, when can we catch Tron: Ares on Disney+? After premiering in theaters nearly three months prior, Tron: Ares is officially scheduled to start streaming on Disney+ on January 7, 2026. Plus, for subscribers with compatible TVs and AV receivers, the movie will feature IMAX Enhanced sound, driven by DTS, to ensure an immersive home viewing experience.

Directed by Joachim Rønning and penned by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne, Tron: Ares boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Gillian Anderson, Evan Peters, Cameron Monaghan, and Sarah Desjardins. Notably, Jeff Bridges returns to reprise his role as Kevin Flynn, making a comeback more than a decade after his appearance in Tron: Legacy. And let’s not forget the electrifying original score provided by Nine Inch Nails.
