t in HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision in 2021. Now that Disney owns Hulu and has created a unified app with both Disney+ and Hulu content, Disney+ is also able to offer a restricted number of titles in HDR10+.

Today’s news is particularly exciting for Samsung TV users, as Samsung TVs do not support Dolby Vision. By adding HDR10+ support, Disney+ is making itself more appealing to the many home theater enthusiasts who own a Samsung TV, the world’s top-selling TV brand.

HDR10+ is an advanced HDR format that uses dynamic metadata to control how each individual frame looks. This format helps to improve black levels and overall image quality on HDR displays. While Dolby Vision offers even more advanced capabilities, including 12-bit color and different profiles and levels, HDR10+ is still a valuable addition for streaming services like Disney+.

In a bid to stay competitive with other streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Apple TV, Disney+ has now added HDR10+ support. While some services require more expensive subscriptions for HDR content, Disney+ allows users on its cheapest plan to enjoy HDR streaming.

With this latest upgrade in HDR capabilities, Disney+ continues to enhance its streaming service. The addition of HDR10+ support comes on the heels of a price increase last month, showing a commitment to offering high-quality content to its subscribers.
